Colossians 1:7-8

Colossians 1:7-8
7 You learned it from Epaphras, our dear fellow servant, who is a faithful minister of Christ on our behalf, 8 and who also told us of your love in the Spirit.

1.  Every church needs a Epaphras, he not only lead them to Christ, but discipled them.  He was their minister, who told them of Christ.  Part of being a good minister is praying for your disciples.  Have you lead someone to Christ, or is there someone God has laid on your heart?

Have you prayed for someone (besides yourself) today?

1. Love (agape) from the Spirit.  God's love is not human love, it is great love which we have from him. We are to love one another, as Christ loved us.  Does this mean we get along with everyone and are best friends with all Christians?  No.  We need to practice loving them, as God loves us.  Without conditions.

Is there someone you need to love?

Finally we come to the end of the paragraph, and the end our our series.  I really hope you enjoyed the Colossians 1:1-8 series this June!  It was fun looking at each verse a little closer and taking time to deep dive into the beginning of a great book of the Bible.

Please leave your comments or thoughts.  I'd like to know if you think I should keep going with Colossians or try something else for July.

  1. Nice reminder to remember to pray for someone besides myself today :-) Yes, I have prayed for my husband and children today.

I stopped over from Time-Warped Wife's blog hop.

  2. Judith, yes I usually need a reminder to pray for others too! It can be easy to slip into just thinking of our needs even when taking care of our families.
