Fries, Ice Cream

John 16:24
Until now you have not asked for anything in my name.
Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete.

My daughter is 2, she loves fries and ice cream.  A few times while driving around town, my  hubby will ask, "Do we need to get anything else while we are out?".  I promptly reply nope we can go home.  Then my daughter announces.

"Fries, ice cream!"

Laughs all around. How can we say no?  She made her request known!  Her requests are usually very reasonable to accommodate.

Even though I wasn't even thinking about ice cream but now that she's voiced her request. I want some too!  (She doesn't get ice cream every time she asks.  It still catches me off guard how well she can communicate the desires of her heart.)  I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream!

This got me thinking about my prayers. I think that God has great plans for my life, but that doesn't mean my prayers to my heavenly father don't have an affect.

Matthew 7:7-8
7 "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.8 For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.

I need to ask him.  He wants me to ask him.  I should be telling him often of the desires of my heart.  He wants what's best for me and we should be having a conversation often.

Is there something you want?  Have you talked with God about it?  I'm sure your heavenly father wants to hear from you about your hopes and dreams, and your desire for fries and ice cream.

Blessings,
Leslie
