3 Bean Chili

This is my Dad's award winning chili recipe with some additions from me.  (I think he got 2nd place in a chili cook-off.  As the story goes 1st place was awarded to a person who just dumped 3 different cans of chili in their pot.)  This recipe always tastes different but I usually follow this recipe:

Add the following to a large cooking pot.

1 pound ground turkey - browned

16 oz dark kidney beans
16 oz pinto beans
16 oz black beans

44 oz canned diced tomatoes
10 oz canned tomatoes with green chilies
12 oz of water

4 TBS dried parsley
2 TBS chili powder
2 beef bouillon cubes
2 tsp dried oregano
2 tsp sea salt
2 tsp garlic powder
2 tsp basil

Heat the above ingredients to a boil and then lower heat and simmer for 30 minutes.

The dried spices really make this dish, don't be afraid to add more!  This is wonderful the day of, and even better the next day.  I like to freeze individual portions, so I will cook up a double batch often.

Make up a batch and enjoy the savory flavors after all the candy from yesterday!
